Tel-Us History

The Award Winning Services of Tel-Us Call Center began in 1979 when its founder, Susan Krems purchased an old cord board answering service. (Picture Lily Tomlin..."one ringy dingy, two ringy dingies"...) It was an era of antiquated switchboards and poorly organized telephone answering procedures. It was her frustration with this that lead her to become one of the pioneers in the advanced technology telecommunications industry.

The legacy is continued under the experienced hand of her daughter, Stacy Krems Polinsky who took the helm as President in 1998 when Susan retired. Stacy started her telecommunications career while still in high school as a telereceptionist for the company, working on the old-fashioned "cord boards" which was then considered state-of-the-art! After receiving a cum laude degree from Brandeis University, Waltham MA, Stacy returned to California to accept a position as General Manager of Tel-Us, in 1986. By that time, the company had rid itself of switchboards and was completely computerized.

Stacy has continued to stay abreast of the developments in the industry over the years by being an active member of various committees and executive boards of national trade associations. Early activities included serving on the Education Committee of the Startel National Users Group (SNUG) where she co-authored an order entry/inbound telemarketing manual. She later worked on the Marketing Committee and served on the Board of Directors of SNUG for six years, including one year as its President. In 2002 Stacy was elected to the Board of the Association of Teleservices International (ATSI) and is currently serving as the Education Chair.

Tel-Us not only stays at the forefront of the industry, but the company has also won ATSI's prestigious Award Of Excellence in 7 consecutive years!
